Backpacking around the world, Bluth explored spiritual and devotional communities—from Indigenous communities of Mexico to Interfaith explorations of the Philippines, folk and Islamic communities of Indonesia, a yoga ashram in South India, and a Sufi pilgrimage holiday in Rajistan—building bridges, collecting stories, and teaching along the way. Bluth received Smicha from Beit Midrash Har’el in Jerusalem, the first coed orthodox rabbinical program in Israel.
She is a certified yoga teacher from the Sivanada Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram. Bluth was the founder and Program Director for Achvat Amim Ruchani, a five-month volunteer program in Jerusalem, engaging with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She also makes hand-crafted botanical Judaica art and Ketubahs.
Bluth leads Kabbalat Shabbat on the beach in Tel Aviv, alternative High Holiday services at Beth Tzedec Congregation in Toronto, a weekly Jewish Meditation shiyur at Studio Naim in Jaffa, Shabbat Retreats in nature, and loves to bring people together for sweet-spirited Jewish gatherings around the globe.
Bluth grew up in Toronto, attending Bialik Hebrew Day School and CHAT, as well as Camp Solelim. She graduated from McGill University in 2012 with degrees in International Development Studies amd Comparative Religion, with a focus in Buddhist Philosophy. While at McGill, she was an active member of the Ghetto Shul. Following university, Bluth worked as the Director of Education for Shoresh Jewish Environmental Programs in Toronto. She worked as an educator for Nesiya, a unique pluralistic summer trip in Israel. Over the past few years, she has studied at Yakar, Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo, Pardes, Mechon Hadar and Matan Women’s Institute for Torah Studies.
Bluth has had valuable experiences doing environmental field research in East Africa, and volunteering on sustainable farms in Israel and in Kenya, including Chava V’adam, Kibbutz Lotan and Badilisha Eco Village. Through these experiences, she developed an interest in community-based development, sustainable food systems, and personal growth.
