Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schürer

Since 2018, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schürer has been serving as Chair of the Foundation Peace Dialogue of the World Religions and Civil Society, Lindau. In 2019 he was appointed as Honorary President of Religions for Peace, New York.

Born in Coburg (Germany) in 1946, Wolfgang Schürer studied at the University of St. Gallen,  where he obtained his MBA in 1970.

Setting  up  the  International  Students’ Committee  (ISC),  he founded the International Management Symposia with fellow students at the University of St. Gallen in 1969. Under his leadership, the Symposia have evolved into an international forum for intergenerational dialogue between leading personalities in business, politics and academia with students.

In 1973, Wolfgang Schürer founded his own consulting boutique, MS Management Service Ltd. He has continuously invested one third of his time pro bono, serving academic and civil society organizations like the Hague Academy for International Law, Universities in St. Gallen and Georgetown as well as various foundations. From 2000 to 2015 he served as Chairman of the Foundation Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings and Vice President of the Council.

Wolfgang Schürer is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Management and a Member of the Carnegie Europe Advisory Council.
