Fred is the Founder and President of Logos Consulting Group and the Executive Director of the Logos Institute for Crisis Management & Executive Leadership. He is the author of several books, including The Power of Communication: Skills to Build Trust, Inspire Loyalty and Lead Effectively, which was named to the United States Marine Corps Commandant’s Professional Reading List for 2013 and 2014 and was recently published in Chinese.
Fred has been on the New York University faculty since 1988, and currently serves as an adjunct professor of management in NYU’s Stern School of Business Executive MBA program and NYU’s Master’s in Corporate Communication program in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Fred is also on the leadership faculty of the Center for Security Studies of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland and on the adjunct faculty of the Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, CA. In 2011 Fred was designated an International Distinguished Scholar at Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he gave a series of lectures and workshops on effective crisis response for graduate students and senior government, corporate, and NGO leaders. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidate School, U.S. Defense Information School, the Brookings Institution, and other universities.
In addition to serving as an International Trustee of Religions for Peace for 4 years, he also serves as Chair of the Board of the Starr King School for the Ministry and Chair of the Board of Interfaith Alliance. Garcia is an active lay Unitarian Universalist. He has been an adviser to Religions for Peace for many years.
