Dr. Al-Sammak’s list of interfaith credits are long: he is the Secretary-General of Lebanon’s National Committee for Christian-Muslim Dialogue, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Spiritual Summit (a meeting of inter-religious dialogue among different branches of Islam), a frequent writer for news outlets, author and co-author of numerous books including, but not limited to, Interfaith Dialogue: Cross-Cultural Views. He is a signatory on “The Amman Message,” an affirmation of unity and equality among Muslim branches and “A Common World between Us and You,” a general letter to Christian leaders calling for increased dialogue and acceptance between faiths.
He has spoken at numerous significant events, such as a synod of significant Catholic clergy, including Pope Benedict XVI and the 2012 Danish-Arab Dialogue Conference. He serves as a representative of Islam for the King Abdullah Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue in Vienna.
