Rt. Rev. Bishop Petra Bosse-Huber

Bishop, Nordelbische Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche
Co-President, Religions for Peace

Rev. Bosse-Huber serves as a bishop of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), a federation of Protestant, regional Churches in Germany. Having studied German and Theology in her higher education, Rev. Bosse-Huber’s mission began in 1986, when she served as a curate and pastor in Dusseldorf, Germany. From here on, Rev. Bosse-Huber’s work has included a host of Interfaith action. She has represented the EKD in numerous interfaith programs including serving in the EKD’s commission for dialogue with the Russian Orthodox Church since 2004 and the EKD’s Church and Judaism joint-committee. In March, 2013, she received the call to become a foreign Bishop of the EKD, heading the Ecumenism and Work Abroad Department, due to her previous qualifications in working for interreligious and intercultural unity. She officially began work in this new role on the first of January, 2014. Rev. Bosse-Huber’s focus on Ecumenism and her perspective as a female Protestant clergywoman enriches RfP’s council of Presidents.
